The whole team on stage during the 10th anniversary of the Festival in July 2001.

Short history

The very first Millau en Jazz festival took place on the banks of river Tarn in 1992. Bernard Allison and Elisabeth Caumont celebrated this happy event under a circus tent which we had rented for the occasion.
Since then and year after year, the dedicated founders of our Association have had no cease in innovating and enriching the program through their artistic choices and the human energy deployed all along the preparation.
New venues have been opened, offering the right place to local musicians.
As for the others, be they named André Ceccarelli, Jean-Marc Padovani, Titi Robin, Didier Labbé, Ti Bal Bazar or Paolo Fresu, they sure keep an unforgetable memory of such a warm welcome and enthusiastic audience.
  Collegial Art Direction

In order to satisfy the best the expectations of our public, as well as taking into account our own musical sensitivities, the team go to many concerts, meet the artists' agents, listen and select recordings that reach the registered office of the Association.
We then confront our wishes and our discoveries in rhythm. Following long and passionnate discussions (not always harmonious), we extract what is to be the essence and the shape of the coming festival.
